The 2nd Corps patch was worn from 13 January 1919 to 5 June 1970.
The II was organized in February 1918 in the Regular Army at Montreuil, France. The roman numeral two indicates the unit's designation, while the American Eagle and the British Lion show that the organization operated with the British in World War I. The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the II Corps on 13 Jan 1919 and officially announced on 27 May 1922. It was redesignated for the II U.S. Army Corps on 16 Dec 1957.
