Aerographer's Mates (AG) Navy Rate Patch 1st-3rd Class

This is the appropriate rating patch for US Navy personnel with the rating of Aerographer's Mates AG1, AG2, or AG3. Navy rates are only sold as first class rates and can be cut to second or third class.

Aerographer's Mates (AG) are the U.S. Navy's weather forecasters. They are trained in meteorology and the use of aerological instruments that monitor air pressure, temperature, humidity, wind speed, and direction. They prepare weather maps and forecasts and can analyze atmospheric conditions to determine the best flight levels for aircraft. An AG can measure wind and air density to aid the accuracy of anti-aircraft firing, shore bombardment and delivery of weapons by aircraft.

The U.S. Navy Enlisted Left Sleeve Rating Patch is Swiss-Loomed on midnight navy-blue wool serge material. By tradition the Petty Officer 1st Class patch must be hemmed to the proper rank for Petty Officer 2nd Class and Petty Officer 3rd Class.
