CSIBs are worn on the right breast pocket of the new Army Dress Blue Uniform to show a soldier’s last combat unit in which he or she served and the retired badge is used for retired Army personnel. This badge has been approved by the Institute of Heraldry and is hallmarked by the manufacturer.
